Who we are / A.C.I.B. history and description
The Cultural Association Italia – Brasil – A.C.I.B. was founded in Cagliari on January 2, 1991, by the will of Dante Puddu and a group of friends, Sardinians and Brazilians, who shared the goals and above all the love for Sardinia, Italy and Brazil. Since 1984, Dante Puddu has traveled and visited the South American country and has been able to admire both the most famous and the lesser-known places despite its size, about 28 times Italy and 353 times Sardinia.
Having been able to travel to Brazil during that period, meeting many Italian and Sardinian immigrants, and having been able to get to know the spirit of the Brazilian people, despite the many problems and contradictions, was the driving force that gave rise to the creation of the Association.
We are an ETS, a Third Sector Entity, a non-profit organization that promotes relations between Italy, Sardinia and Brazil and in particular with the international network of Sardinian emigrants' clubs, carrying out, organizing and managing its activities in Sardinia, Italy and abroad, including with international cooperation projects, in the fields of culture, sport, environment, social tourism, training, artistic, educational, promotion and everything that has as its aim the improvement and economic and productive integration, as well as social and relations between two nations and Sardinia and the cultural rapprochement between its populations.
